PANAMA BAG

Although the panama hat really was born in Ecuador of toquila straw, the reference to Panama stuck as most goods exported from South American came from the Isthmus of Panama.  Again this post has nothing to do with Panama, Ecuador, or hats, but I did want to set the record straight about panama hats.  This Hermes Trim bag isn't in toile or crinoline, but rather woven toquila straw, making it very equal in materials to the aforementioned hat and rather unusual in fabrication.  She was born in 1998 and has been used, but not abused.  A little green leather wear along it's "trim" and two "scars", but at $1200 for a vintage Trim that's hardly an obstacle.  The perfect summer bag that might just work very pleasantly with an actual panama hat, perhaps designed by my friend Rod Keenan.  As a matter of fact, why not have him make a custom panama for you trimmed in the very same shade of green.  Now that's chic!
